If you want to save some money on expensive home
repairs you may want to tackle some common home
repair jobs on your own. By calling someone to
make the repairs for you, you~ll be spending a lot of
money that you could be saving by doing some
things yourself. Doing your own repairs can be
daunting if you don~t know what you~re doing so
you may want to purchase a manual on home repair
to get you started. You may also want to buy a tool
box that comes with all the essential tools that you
need to make those repairs.

A hammer is going to be one tool that you~ll
definitely want to have in your tool box. There are
many different varieties of hammers that you can
choose from, but keep in mind that you don~t need
anything expensive. You~ll find that you use a
hammer for a variety of home repair jobs. Choose a
hammer that has a comfortable grip and that isn~t
too heavy or large in your hand.

If you~re going to be doing any type of measuring,
such as measuring a room to see if new furniture
will fit, you~ll want to have a tape measure to do the
job for you. Tape measures take the guessing out of
whether new furniture will fit and will also come in
handy for many other home repair jobs.

One tool that you absolutely can~t do without is a
screwdriver. You~ll want to have several different
sizes of screwdrivers, including a manual
screwdriver and perhaps a power one. For most
repair jobs a simple manual screwdriver works best.
To make sure that you have screwdrivers of all sizes
you can buy a screwdriver that has detachable bits.

Wrenches are another useful tool that you~ll want to
include in your home repair tool kit. Be sure to get
one that is adjustable so you can use it for any
situation. Great for tightening bolts, a wrench will
make a valuable addition to your tool box.

Another tool that you may need in your tool box for
all your home repairs is a pair of pliers. Whenever
possible you~ll want to buy tools that are adjustable
so that you have more versatility with your tools
and so that they take up less room in your tools box.

You~ll want to have other pieces of equipment in
your tool box besides just tools. You~ll also want to
have bolts, screws, and nails on hand for all your
repair jobs. Over time you can more tools to your
box but these few starter tools will be enough to get
you started so that you can do some repair jobs on
your own.
